Connect Google Search Console (read-only)

Updated 22 October 2026 · 2 min read · By The ParSEO team

The short answer

ParSEO reads Search Console through one read-only service address. In Search Console, open Settings, then Users and permissions, add ParSEO's address with Restricted permission, and press Check access in ParSEO. Only a property Owner can add users, and ParSEO can't change anything in your account.

Key points

  • Permission: Restricted, which is read-only.
  • Only a Search Console Owner can add users.
  • Remove the address in Search Console and access ends.
  • ParSEO shows Google's own numbers beside its daily checks.

Why connect it

Search Console is Google's own record of your site in search: the searches that show you, how often, your average position and your clicks. ParSEO puts those numbers beside its own daily checks, so you see Google's figure next to every claim.

What ParSEO can and can't do

The access is read-only. ParSEO can read your Search Console data. It can't add users, change settings, submit or remove anything.

If Check access fails

  • Make sure the person adding the address is an Owner of the property.
  • Make sure you added it to the property for this website.
  • Paste the address exactly as ParSEO shows it.

Questions people ask

I'm not an Owner. What do I do?

Ask the property's Owner to add the address, or to make you an Owner. In Search Console, only Owners can add users.

My site isn't in Search Console yet.

Add and verify the property first. ParSEO Edge can put Google's verification code on your home page for you.
